Perihelion Poppy Flower Field


Description

VBSP detail texture of Poppy Flower Field used in Perihelion poster.

Detail texture derives from Rural Details used in Left 4 Dead 2 (Swamp Fever). In pack there’s also small sample map for reference. Good tip – to make details visible in larger distance use cl_detaildist 4096 command (it may slightly affect perfomance though).

Maybe someone will want to use it in their own maps :)

@EdwardNigma unfortunately it's not the way VBSP detail works, but I can make few single Poppy Flower models - but the perfomance hit while making the filed will be ENORMOUS when compared to scene made and compiled in Hammer :) Check out nice write up about detail textures here: http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/33402

Is this a map? what's .vbsp and .vmf?

@gunther72 Check out this cool article - http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/33402 Inside there's not compiled yet example map to open in Hammer (just plain field with skybox, nothing else), for easier first steps in mapping ins SFM SDK :)
