Anamorphic Lens Flare

Description

Have you ever wanted to be this guy?

Well, now you can convince yourself that you are!

Pretty simple little asset I put together, because I decided "why should I have to spend the time building, tracking, and masking lens flares in post, when I can just have a lens flare in the actual scene and have it handle all of that for me?"

Designed after the anamorphic lens flares in Mass Effect 3, and indeed, the actual anamorphic stretch was extracted directly from Mass Effect 3. All of the other textures I built myself, though, since they're simple enough.

Has 6 components, each of which has its own set of bones to control the size. The anamorphic stretch and the bars have bones to control the length, and every element has a root bone that can be scaled or moved individually.

The components are: the central radial, the outer ring (disabled by default), the vertical and horizontal bars, the anamorphic stretch, and a "flare" circle (disabled by default).

This actually comes with 5 models: a bodygrouped combination of all of the elements, a separate radial, a separate crossbar (both horizontal and vertical), a separate ring, a separate anamorphic stretch, and a separate flare circle.

Chances are, the most commonly used models will be the actual lens-flare model, and then additional flare circles.

I also highly recommend using the color script and the cloaking script with the lens flare. The color script will allow you to change the colors arbitrarily, because there are only 4 total skingroups: everything white (default), and then a blue/red/green anamorphic stretch. The cloaking script will allow you to tune the opacity of the lens flares, to give you more direct control.

Additionally, the cloaking script will allow you to animate flipping the lens flare off when something passes in front of the light source, because these textures ignore everything on the scene (such as to have the flare behave correctly).

"Credits to Lord Aardvark" Doesn't seem very stolen to me. He attributed credit, which is all I ask for.
