Create IK Constraint script

Description

A very quick way to create ik for limbs. works similar to the ik in SFM 2.

How to install

unzip and merge the folder here: "SourceFilmmaker\game\platform\" or here "SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\"

How to use

  1. right click bone you want to target i.e hand/foot

  2. go to dag utilities menu

  3. click Create IK Constraint and that's it.

it will add the rig control for the target in the same group as the bone and move the Constraint bones to a hidden group

special thanks to http://steamcommunity.com/id/Edtion who gave me the idea.

feel free to modify the script for your own use
if you find any bugs or have suggestions message me in the comments below.

Now that I've actually tried this, it's bloody fantastic. I've got a model that no rigs seem to fully work on, even autorigger inevitably leaves the left leg static but this helped me fix it in 10 seconds.

Doesn't seem to work on my end. Create IK Constraint doesn't show up.

Hey msu355, I'm working on a little guide for IK rigging XPS models in Blender, and I'm hoping to get your thoughts on it: https://www.officialdigitalero.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8636 If you can't see the page, here are some gifs of the process: Step 1 - https://gfycat.com/HealthyLoathsomeIbis Step 2 - https://gfycat.com/OffbeatFondAffenpinscher Step 3A - https://gfycat.com/HeartfeltThreadbareFairyfly Step 3B - https://gfycat.com/AchingRashIridescentshark Step 4 - https://gfycat.com/UnequaledGracefulBull Step 5 - https://gfycat.com/WhirlwindSmallHyena Step 6 - https://gfycat.com/MeagerOldfashionedGalapagoshawk Step 7 - https://gfycat.com/PleasantGoodnaturedBernesemountaindog
