Description

This is my first port ever from MMD to SFM, so expect huge amount of bugs.
The original mmd model can be found at:
http://samsink.deviantart.com/art/TDA-Haku-Wedding-Dress-Ver-1-03-DOWNLOAD-564440579

If you found any bugs, please let me know in the comment section so I will try to fix it if possible.
This model has around 600+ bones by default. That is why it contains 3 parts for each model.

A total of 6 mdl files are included:

  1. haku.mdl - The main model for Haku
  2. haku_lower_skirt.mdl - Lower skirt for Haku
  3. haku_top_skirt.mdl - Head skirt for Haku

  4. young_haku.mdl - The main model for Haku young version

  5. young_haku_lower_skirt.mdl - The lower skirt for Haku young version
  6. young_haku_top_skirt.mdl - The head skirt for Haku young version

================================================================================

In order to attach the skirt on the main model, simply do the following:

  1. Load the main model
  2. Right click on the model. Select "Rig" -> "revzin assemble autoload"

The skirts should be loaded and attached to the main model automatically.

You can also do it manually by loading the skirts and attach the relative bones with the main model, then set the "Zero" slider to 1.

================================================================================

Huge amount of jiggle-bones are added to make things simplier. Those jiggle-bones covers the skirts (top and bottom), hair, jewelry and breast.
Due to the large amount of bones in the model, they will clip a lot if complicated animations are set on them.
In this case, you can still bake procedure bone to manually control the jiggle-bones.

A preview of the effects of jigglebones in HLMV is as below:

================================================================================

New groups of bones are created in "sfm defaultanimationgroups" located in "\game\usermod\cfg".
In case of conflict, I have included "haku_group.txt" in "\game\usermod\cfg".
"haku_group.txt" contains only the groups modified by the haku model. You can copy the content into your own "sfm defaultanimationgroups" file.

================================================================================

The original file contains huge amount of transparent textures.
The engine used by sourcefilmmaket has a couple of bugs with the "translucent" properties.
The potential issue is documented in https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$translucent

In those cases, "alphatest" properties has been used to replace "translucent" properties in order to avoid those issues, at the expense of quality.
A mix of both of those properties are used for various trade off considerations.

Let me know any suggestions/improvements/bugs in the comment sections. I will try to fix them if I can.

The young haku model is working fine for me. However the other haku model has missing materials. She shows up with purple and black on parts of her body

So, in this pack.. You get the skirt and only the skirt, too?

SpookyTill posted 1 year, 11 months ago

@JD0ggX Can you post a pic on what it looks like? I will fix it. They should share the same texture.

@JD0ggX Hmm weird..It seems fine on my end. Are you able to verify if the newer version fixes the issue? I tried to separate the texture for each of them.

dl2002081 posted 1 year, 11 months ago

Where exactly is she from? I can't seem to find out myself.

A heads up on making $translucent work: If you compile the model with $mostlyopaque (in the QC file), this fixes the transparency issue by rendering opaque parts in the first pass, and transparent parts in a second pass. I don't know how well it works on multiple, layered transparent parts, though. And for reference, ambient occlusion can work with transparency, if you render one video without AO, and one with only AO shown, and combine them in post-processing.

cosmo777 posted 1 year, 11 months ago

@cosmo777 Yes I tried that. They already have mostlyopaque in their QC files. But the transparency textures are still messed up. I didn't know about the AO trick though, will try it out and see if it fixes the issue. Thanks

I think they added the choice to render ambient occlusion separately specifically because of this problem. Its pretty much a something that needs to be customized for what you are looking to do. For example, if you want the transparent cloth parts to have AO, then disable their transparency before rendering the "AO only" video. You will get a black-and-white video, and in video editing set its blending to "multiply" so the black parts darken the layers beneath it. You just have to get creative with what you want.

I would call the small one more of a "chibi" version than a "young" version. Definitely a very adult physique.
