This script will auto spawn 3d text.

To install

place script here: SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\scripts\sfm\animset

How to use

  1. apply the "text generator" rig to any model in the scene.

  2. select which workshop font you want.

  3. type in your text then click spawn text, thats it, the group of letters will be spawned in front of the main camera .

  4. to use the two slider controls; it's best to use them after defaulting all the letters first.

you need at least 1 of the 4 workshops below in order for this script to work

Letters and Numbers (by Netherium)

Splatoon - 3D Letter Models

TF Letters

Spyro 1 GUI Letters

Also the Splatoon pack is the only one that has uppercase letters, but no digits.

in a future update I'll add a way to manually import different workshop models

feel free to modify the script for your own use
if you find any bugs or have suggestions message me in the comments below.

You do great stuff. I dont need it but it looks cool.

Well, I see **[my own realtime text-generator script](** is generating some interest among Python scripters. That's great to see! That being said, there is no reason for this to rely on the rigs system, since it does not actually involve the animset you operate on. It should instead be in the Tools section, which is animset-independent.

@LordAardvark, I didn't want to rely the rig system at first, but some sfm python functions only work when the the script is being applied as rig for some reason.

Interesting. I've never encountered that before. Feel free to hit me up on Tumblr messaging, if you want to discuss it further.
