Batman (Arkham Knight - Arkham City skin)

Description

2/3 One more left after this and then Arkham Knight, Scarecrow, and Red Hood will be following soon. The cape has an ambient occlusion issue... one I've seen a lot... older batman models have it to.. only way I know how to fix it would be to remove AO altogether but there goes scene quality... anyone have any ideas shoot'em my way. Enjoy.

  • Ported from thePWA's XNA model
  • Rigged with valvebiped2spine
  • Bodygrouped belt and cape
  • Eyeposing

btw one last thing how do you remove AO?

Willi_Miner posted 3 years, 7 months ago

Stealth211

Load up your model. Right click on the model in the animation set editor and find "Add override materials" down at the bottom of the menu. Right click again and find "Show in element viewer - Model" down at the bottom of the list expand the materials tab. Find the material you want AO removed. Right click and hit "Add attribute - Float" Now name that attribute "$ambientocclusion" you can then change the value from 0 to 1 and vice versa. This will remove the AO on the model in that game. To remove it entirely from the model you need to edit the VMT files. Which is a completely different process.

ok so then how do you fix the issue where the cape is attached to the hands?

Willi_Miner posted 3 years, 7 months ago

Stealth211

That one you have to deal with right now. I may or may not fix that because it's not an issue. It's how the model was made.
