Pacific Rim: Otachi (beta)

Description

Someone once posted these models but never got around to successfully porting them into SFM. Well I went ahead and changed that.

Introducing one of the many kaiju of the Pacific Rim franchise, the fearsome Otachi!

The model itself requires a few tune ups but is overall ready for use.

Comes with one bodymorph slider which will morph it's wings into a sort of "retracted" state. Messy but it'll suffice for now. (And she looks better with them expanded in my opinion)

I'll eventually get around to fixing up the model at a later time, or, any of you here are free to fiddle with it. For now, I shall be focusing on the much more easier kaiju models that are more bipedal in stance.

Comes in four sizes but to be honest the "small" model is big enough for most films (the other two above it for some odd reason just blew out of proprotions during the compiling)

Awesome! About time we got more than just a single model from Pacific Rim. Say what you want about the movie, but the monsters and robots were awesome. I am curious, why do the front claws light up, and can they be adjusted or fixed?

They were apart of the glowmaask, your best bet is to edit the glowmask so they don't glow, which is an easy fix in gimp or photoshop.

This is pretty great actually. Like already said we need more Pacific Rim models. I would definitely like the Jaegers. Where was the post for these? Cause I literally searched everywhere i could.

https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1289722&page=3 from here, I had a friend convert them from MAX3DS files into Dae files I could import into blender, and from there, I had to rerig Otachi from scratch after fixing the textures because, and I quote > Just FYI, they have bones but the rigging is completely worthless. You'll need to rerig them completely, the textures are also quite low res. However, if need be, I can provide a link with obj files of the jaegars and kaiju

Oh and the Jaegar uvs are messed up I do however have objs of the Jaegars with their UVs fixed, I can provide those too

About time people start releasing Pacific Rim Models (There was a Cherno Alpha around there that never surfaced with DP-Films showing the only image of it)
