SFMLab is currently in READ-ONLY mode

SFMLab will soon be migrated to a new codebase. In preparation for this, we have temporarily disabled some site functionality, namely the features listed below. This is necessary to ensure the move will not lead to accidental data-loss. You should still be able to download existing files available on the site.(although the EU server will suffer from reduced availability)

SFMLab will stay in read-only mode until the end of February, when the migrations are set to conclude.

Hi i'm new to source film making and i had a question how do i add this sheeva file into the map directory so that i can load and edit it?

cahi1 posted 5 years, 6 months ago

In reply to cahi1, Okay, first, this isn't a map. It's a model. And now to answer your question. Step 1. Download the file. Step 2. Open it in 7-Zip/WinZip/jZip/whatever zip file manager you use. Step 3. If there are 2 folders (materials and models), then you can skip this step. Open the one folder that shows up. It might be called "Sheeva-MK9" or something like that. Step 4. Select the materials and models folders. Step 5. Extract them to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\usermod. Step 6. If Windows asks you to merge or replace the existing folders, MERGE THEM! If it doesn't, then it most likely does it automatically. Step 7. Open Source Filmmaker, load a map, and add a new model. Step 8. On the "filters" text box, type "sheeva" and the model should come up. If it does, then you are done.

Sounds like you didn't install it correctly.

Ganonmaster posted 4 years, 11 months ago

ok, when i download it, it says its a (.rar) file, could that be whats wrong? if so how do i change it?

timothypec posted 4 years, 11 months ago

nevermind i tried one as i .zip file but it still wont show up, all the lines are there as if the model is there but theres still no model?

timothypec posted 4 years, 11 months ago
