This is the final scenebuild of my work-in-progress Wilderness project, name still pending.
THIS MAP IS COMPLETELY SELF-CONTAINED. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ELSE TO USE THIS MAP WITHOUT ERRORS.
Comes with the following:
- Three maps - day, night, and "sandbox" with no lights or skybox at all
- Three DMXs - template_forest_day, template_forest_night, template_forest_nolight. Each template has the camera and a few basic lights preset, with the appropriate map loaded. Each template also has about 70 grass props spawned. All of the additions, sans camera, are hidden groups by default. You need to make sure Groups are visible, and then unhide them, to use them.
- All models and materials used in the map and DMXs.
Models and materials are sourced from Episode 2 and the foliage pack that nightb0y released.
Note that you should be wary of turning on the grass if your machine is lower-end. There are approximately 14 million triangles worth of grass spawned in the scene, and they do not encompass the entire map - only the pieces seen by the camera.
I personally encounter a very small performance impact with the grass on, but if you attempt to use snap-placement (holding down shift and moving an element), then you will probably experience extreme fps drops like I did.** I highly recommend you turn the grass off while placing and posing models** - only turn it on when lighting and rendering.
Feel free to use the map, DMXs, and assets for anything you want. As I said, I built these for my as-yet-unfinished Wilderness project, but there's no reason I can't share the set while I work on finishing the project.
