Description

This is the final scenebuild of my work-in-progress Wilderness project, name still pending.

THIS MAP IS COMPLETELY SELF-CONTAINED. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ELSE TO USE THIS MAP WITHOUT ERRORS.

Comes with the following:

  • Three maps - day, night, and "sandbox" with no lights or skybox at all
  • Three DMXs - template_forest_day, template_forest_night, template_forest_nolight. Each template has the camera and a few basic lights preset, with the appropriate map loaded. Each template also has about 70 grass props spawned. All of the additions, sans camera, are hidden groups by default. You need to make sure Groups are visible, and then unhide them, to use them.
  • All models and materials used in the map and DMXs.

Models and materials are sourced from Episode 2 and the foliage pack that nightb0y released.

Note that you should be wary of turning on the grass if your machine is lower-end. There are approximately 14 million triangles worth of grass spawned in the scene, and they do not encompass the entire map - only the pieces seen by the camera.

I personally encounter a very small performance impact with the grass on, but if you attempt to use snap-placement (holding down shift and moving an element), then you will probably experience extreme fps drops like I did. I highly recommend you turn the grass off while placing and posing models - only turn it on when lighting and rendering.

Feel free to use the map, DMXs, and assets for anything you want. As I said, I built these for my as-yet-unfinished Wilderness project, but there's no reason I can't share the set while I work on finishing the project.

when using forest no light and forest night all of the props/ Ie. grass trees boulders etc... appear to still be lit for some reason.

um . . . when ever I port a poster with this I get some very bizarre black lines in said poster . . . similar to whats happening here http://tumblr.nightboy.net/post/121839641203/serfatboy-anyone-know-how-to-fix-these-black I don't have this issue on others maps i have (spent a good deal of time testing it) . . . just figure I bring this up

@mullinsthegreat: I have similar problems when rendering posters sometimes: https://40.media.tumblr.com/d2e5ad2f2a1a62c19f639ca4c6912dd6/tumblr_o17jd7vHax1ujf1oco8_1280.jpg Mostly noticeable on the guys' legs, though I tried to fix some of it in Photoshop. Let me know if you find out how to solve this more easily. @futanarifan: Right click on the background of the Animation Set Editor -> maker sure Show Scene Hierarchy is selected. Then you will see three grass hierarchies, click the eyes next to them to toggle on/off.

Not sure why but the grass just doesn't work for me. I enabled 'Show Scene Hierarchy' but nothing shows up. Even the cameras are not showing up. Could somebody please help me? http://i.imgur.com/D2mg63V.jpg

Might just be me, but when I load the templates I cannot do anything with lights (adding them does nothing in all 3) and even if I delete EVERYTHING but the camera I see no changes. When I load the maps and not the template I can add lights normally. Maybe there's a setting enabled in the templates that I'm unaware of.

Using the night version and the no light version, some random bush from the map are constantly fully lit. Since they are part of the map, I can't remove them. How to fix it ?
