[2016 UPDATE]

Scale has been updated. If you were working on something, this update will break it.

You can get temporary model overrides for the old skeleton and scale, to continue working on whatever you were doing until you're ready to switch. Additionally, you can get separate model overrides that scales everything back to TF2 like it was before, but with the new skeletons. This second pack is mainly for convenience when working on TF2 or similarly scaled maps, also jigglebones can't scale with the SFM scale controls so this may be necessary for animators.

All the new features have been applied to both sets of overrides, so pick and choose whatever you need, it's all there.

All supplementary files are now in a single extra download, control groups, IK rigs, particles, etc. You can find that below, but what you need for this specific submission is also in the main download.

This is a modified and enhanced version of Skull Kid's model from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The textures have been modified to match a darker, more realistic art style, akin to Hyrule Warriors.

Additionally, many parts of the model have been enhanced from the original Smash model:

  • Hands have been completely remade to support finger posing.
  • Several areas are higher poly. Most notably the arms, legs, and hands.
  • 2D sprites of the stone rings and belts have been replaced with fully modeled meshes.
  • The face has been given a real texture and eyes so you can remove Majora's Mask.
  • Custom normal maps have been created.
  • The hat is fully rigged and jiggleboned to react realistically to gravity and movement.
  • A custom flute model has been made using the original textures from the one that was cut from Smash.
  • Majora's Mask can be loaded on it's own.
  • Presets for hand poses are included.

Note that ambient occlusion is incompatible with this model due to the excessive amounts of transparency used.

A custom IK rig is included in the download, as well as a Control Groups, which is the same as the one included in my other Hyrule Warriors submissions.

The control groups files goes in SourceFilmmaker\game\platform\cfg\ Ideally, copy the contents of the bottom of the file provided into your own sfm_defaultanimationgroups.txt file, but if you have never modified this file before, it is safe to just replace it completely with the one in the download.

Special thanks to RTB for the Smash 4 extraction methods.

SFMLab is a free service. However, it costs about $0.03 to deliver you a 1GB file. With over 20TB of traffic every month and growing, SFMLab needs your help. If only 1% of our users each gave us $5 for a single month, we could keep the site running for several years.

How to extract Unity models
Unity is an engine that's used for many games. So how do we get to the models and textures? With some publicly available tools, of course!
