[2016 UPDATE]

Huge update, read the changelog if you're interested. Scales are smaller, and skeleton is totally different. If you were working on something, this version will definitely break it.

You can get temporary model overrides for the old skeleton and scale, to continue working on whatever you were doing until you're ready to switch. Additionally, you can get separate model overrides that scales everything back to TF2 like it was before, but with the new skeletons. This second pack is mainly for convenience when working on TF2 or similarly scaled maps, also jigglebones can't scale with the SFM scale controls so this may be necessary for animators.

All the new features have been applied to both sets of overrides, so pick and choose whatever you need, it's all there. Make sure to replace the materials for the eyeballs if you get an override, the new values in the VMT files are needed to work with the different scales.

TF2 SCALES

All supplementary files are now in a single extra download, control groups, IK rigs, particles, etc. You can find that below, but what you need for this specific submission is also in the main download.

EXTRA FILES

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

This is a cleaned up and enhanced version of Young Link from Hyrule Warriors. I've put together a huge amount of custom content to accompany his model, including all of his swords and shields from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and 13 of the masks from Majora's Mask, all with remade high poly meshes and resampled textures and normals.

Link's model has had a ton of work done from the base import, every part of the mesh besides the head and chest have been been made much higher poly and fully rerigged. Textures are cleaned and seams have been repaired.

A paintable tunic is included on the second skin group, and a dark skin on the third. All accompanying items and masks have a dark skin on the second skin group. Flexes follow the same "HWM-ish" format as my other models, but the facial bones are available if desired.

The Keaton and Fierce Deity masks on the side of his face and on his waist from Hyrule Warriors can be toggled on with bodygroups, but by default they are off. All the included masks are available to bonemerge straight to Link's face for easy use, you need only toggle the hair_mask bodygroup on Link to make them fit.

Included Equipment:

  • Kokiri Sword (OoT): Heavily modified from a Skyrim model by Quechus13
  • Kokiri Sword (MM): From Hyrule Warriors, has a flex to scale to the greatsword version

That's a shame, I was hoping the update would fix the problem with links hair going crazy if you resize his head and body. If you try to use young Link's head on another model, and you shrink down his body and scale up his head everything will be fine, until you undo anything, because then his hair suddenly grows way too large, and so does his cap.

Actually, I just found something out. Here's a more thorough explanation of what happens. If you edit the size of Links head and then undo, you get some very strange behaviour. If you make his head larger, without having made his body smaller, and then undo, his hair and cap will shrink into his head. If you have made his body smaller, it seems to have no effect. If you make his head smaller, and then undo, one of two things will happen; either Link becomes invisible or his hair and cap will go crazy and enlarge. If you shrink his head, undo, shrink it again and undo again, over and over, the effect stacks, getting worse and worse for each time. If you then enlarge his head and undo, his hair and caps reset to normal size.

If I remember correctly, his hair is jiggled, just bake the procedural bones if you're going to mess with his scaling and you should be fine. I think there was other solution, but never tried it.

Love this model, but is there any way to make his hat removable? I really want to put it on another model!
