Description

Another set of props I have been working on. Very simply drop the "PropShop2" into an empty map to start, this is two simple box rooms with a rigged trap door between them. As usual everything is custom made and I tried to keep it high poly and HQ textured where possible so enjoy animating.

Is there an IK rig for that robot arm? Every attempt of mine has ended with the arm bending the wrong way.

Okay I spoke to LordAardvark and we concluded the only way we can get an IK rig to work would be to have the robot arm compiled to be bent by default, given the way the elbow calculations work. Otherwise the arm will always bend sideways.

@DemonicLemon: If you want to make a IK rig go for it, for me I was happy animating this arm without it. Personally I think with animation you need a bit of both, below animation was quick and simple. http://gfycat.com/PessimisticAgileGecko

@DemonicLemon Tell LordAardvark to feed the elbow control location a static value instead of the location of a bone. The IK rig's only going to be good for this mesh, so it's fine to hard-code it in.

Question, do you use the default slider to align everything like the picture or was all of that set manually? Cuz using the slider set it differently for me...
